4 Automatic Cross-referencing
Natural navigation links to the next or the previous web page in the
sequence are automatically included,
2 as can be seen at the top and
bottom of this page. Any page can be accessed directly from the table
of contents (see section *). Links are generated in response
to the standard
LATEX commands such as \ref and
\label, \cite, and \index.
So, for example, a
reference to a place in a different page is generated here by a
command \ref{sec1label} which refers to a label left in section
2. It may be followed by simply clicking on the reference,
and one can return here by using the "back" button on the browser.
Footnotes are kept in a separate file to which the browser is
automatically taken when the footnote is clicked on.3 In addition,
separate files for references and the index are created, if necessary.
